Smile 'important to sex life'

Smile 'important to sex life'An individual's smile plays a big part in their sexual attractiveness, it has been reported.

According to the Sunday Mirror, it is this fact that has motivated many to seek cosmetic dentistry treatments to improve their appearance.

It cited a recent survey which found that more people view tooth whitening as a way of enhancing their looks than liposuction or breast augmentation.

"Most would rather mix saliva with a clean looking mouth than one with furry, yellowing teeth," the newspaper stated.

Drinking tea or smoking can discolour teeth so those looking to improve their smile should seek the help of a cosmetic dentist, it advised.

The newspaper also recommended brushing twice a day and flossing regularly to maintain healthy and attractive teeth.

A Mintel survey for the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in 2006 found that 26 per cent of the population have had cosmetic dentistry.

Teeth whitening was revealed to be the most popular treatment, followed by white fillings, crowns or bridges and veneers.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18600048-ADNFCR
